BalanceTest
Zinzino BalanceTest is a simple at-home dried blood spot test that analyzes fatty acids in capillary blood from a fingertip. Just a few drops of blood on the filter paper are enough, and the sample is considered as accurate as venous blood testing.
The test measures 11 fatty acids and reports them as a percentage of total fatty acids. It provides insight into:
- Omega-3 index
- Omega-6 balance
- Cell membrane fluidity
- Mental resilience
- Arachidonic acid index
- Overall protection value
How it works The test evaluates key fatty acids, including EPA, DHA, DPA, arachidonic acid, and saturated fats. Based on these results, it calculates several important health indicators, such as omega-6:3 ratio, omega-3 level, balance, fluidity, and mental resilience.
Why it matters
- Omega-3 index ideally should be at least 8%, with 10% recommended
- Omega-6:3 ratio should be below 3:1
- Cell membrane fluidity is better when the ratio is below 4:1
- A lower balance ratio supports normal cellular and tissue function
